ACTIVITIES / Horseback Riding
Just 8 km north of Dominical is Nauyaca Falls, a popular destination for travelers to reach by HORSEBACK. The falls are comprised of two cascades, which plunge more than 200 feet into a relaxing warm-water swimming pond. The scenic journey by horseback, managed by several stables in the area, takes about 2 hours. You’ll ride through the Costa Rica rainforest, where you’ll likely see white-faced monkeys, toucans, sloths, and other indigenous wildlife. You’ll have a unique, up-close-and-personal experience with a very special toucan, and then you’ll arrive at Nauyaca Falls. Bring a bathing suit so you can swim in what you will forever remember as one of the most stunning natural springs you have ever seen. Step up and take the challenge to dive off the many spots the cliffs offer for experienced divers. Most importantly, you can sit back in Costa Rica’s relatively warm waters and just enjoy a moment of peace and serenity that you would find hard, if not impossible, to duplicate anywhere else.
